OSAZE FIT, MAY START AGAINST BENIN
Pacy winger Osaze Odemwingie could start against the Squirrels of Mozambique on Saturday after the player himself confirmed to nigeriaff.com that he is fit and ready to rumble at the African Cup of Nations.

The Lokomotiv FC of Russia star was disturbed like every member of the squad over Tuesday´s 1-3 loss to the Pharaohs of Egypt and is eager to step on the field against the tiny neighbours to the west on Saturday.

“I am very fit now and ready to go. Yes, I am very okay”, said the speedy winger, who contrbuted immensely to Nigeria´s 2010 World Cup qualification.

Odemwingie has played at three African Cup of Nations finals (2004, 2006 and 2008) and is eager to have a feel of the ball at his fourth African Cup finals. He was one of Nigeria´s two alternate players at the 2002 World Cup finals but did not play.

He had been disturbed by an infection since the team arrived the training camp in Durban, South Africa at the end of December.
